PRESS RELEASE – THE St. Lucia Information and Communication Technology Association (SLICTA), the association that represents the interests of the ICT sector, held its 4th Annual General Meeting on Saturday, January 13 at the Finance Administrative Centre, Point Seraphine.

The main aim of the association is to advocate for regulations and legislations that will support further growth, development and expansion to enable the sector to realize its full potential as a key driver of economic growth.

Dr. Lyndell St. Ville, who previously served as President of SLICTA during the 2015-2017 period, was re-elected to serve for another 2-year term, and expressed that: “The local ICT sector, despite its economic importance, is not sufficiently represented to unlock its development potential and to benefit sector professionals and practitioners, and the wider economy.

“Because ICT is such a valuable and export-friendly source of employment opportunities, workers deserve to have a proactive and powerful voice advocating on their behalf. Working in partnership, the new SLICTA executive is determined to grow the association and advance the quality of our interaction with other agencies to benefit our country. “

The new executive, elected to oversee the mission of the association and to ensure its prosperity by collectively directing the association’s affairs, while meeting the appropriate interests of its stakeholders, consists of:
