Weekend Football Results

First Touch Pioneers and Northern United All Stars booked their places into the semifinals of the Saint Lucia Football Association/Gros Islet Football League Guardsman Under-13 Football tournament on Monday with victories over FLOW Lancers FC and Big Players respectively.

In the first encounter, Flow Lancers went ahead of First Touch Pioneers with a goal from Kalum Merius in the 12th minute. However, First Touch Pioneers never allowed their shoulders to drop as they continued to press on for the equalizer, which eventually came via Ajani Hippolyte in the 30th minute to leave the scoreline 1-1 at the halftime whistle.

In the second half of play, First Touch Pioneers’ Shaquan Nelson puthis team ahead with goals through to win 3-1.

The second semifinal featured Northern United All Stars of Gros Islet and Big Players of Marchand. Despite several scoring opportunities on either side of the pitch, the scoreline remained nil-all after regulation time, sending the game straight into a penalty shootout, which Northern United All Stars won 4-1.

Meanwhile, the date, venue and time for the grand final will be confirmed at a later date by the organizers.

Other matches played over the weekend were as follows:

VIEUX FORT: The Vieux Fort Football League/O.B.Sadoo-sponsored second round of matches resumed on Sunday in a double-header event at the Phillip Marcellin Ground.

The results were as follows: Uptown Rebels (7) versus Vieux Fort South Veterans (1). Goal scorers for Uptown Rebels were Cassius Joseph (2 goals, 3rd and 44th minutes); Tyrone Clarke (own goal, 36th minute), Tremain Paul (37th minute); Moses Henry (47th minute); Noah Nicholas (48th minute); and Twinkle Actil (57th minute).

Vieux Fort South Veterans’ lone goal came from Damon Phillip in the 7th minute.

In the second match of the evening, Platinum FC beat Green Lake 1-0. Goal scorer for Platinum FC was Gregson President in the 67th minute.

DESRUISSEAUX— In the Allen Chastanet District Representative Cup Football Tournament, Small Axe booked their spot into the semifinals with a 2-0 win over Green Monsters on Sundayat the Desruisseaux playing field. Jessi James was Small Axe’s hero with goals in the 61st and 71st minutes. The final quarterfinal game takes place on Saturday between TFC and Lion Heart from 4.00 p.m at the DPF.
