NCF Celebrates Scholar’s Success

For the academic year 2015-2016, 28 scholars wrote the CSEC examination. Students sat exams in 30 subject areas with a total of 211 entries. The overall pass rate attained was 83%.

However, a student of the Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School performed exceptionally with very impressive results. Eucyln Amorsingh, who wrote eight subjects, passed with all Grade Ones. Majority of the NCF scholars have begun tertiary studies at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.

One hundred and fifty-seven students continue to benefit from NCF’s assistance for the academic year 2016-2017.

The National Community Foundation is a philanthropic, non-profit, community-based non-governmental organization that functions primarily as a grant-making institution. One of NCF’s focus areas is a scholarship programme which covers the full academic life of the holder from form one to form five.

Students are provided with books, uniforms, meal and transportation allowance, facility, and examination fees. However, students must perform credibly with an average of about 65% to continue receiving assistance.
