Judgement Day Is Near

THE EDITOR:
FELLOW St Lucians, if you have been observing the political scene with interest and sincerity for some time, by now you would know for sure that for the sake of our country we cannot possibly put the St Lucia Labour party back to keep raining on our parade. We deserve some relief in this country. Relief from the failed policies of the SLP, from the misguided and self-seeking priorities of the SLP leader, from the ill-fated direction in which that autocratic leader is taking us. He has no respect for us, St Lucians, including his supporters, and we are predicting that St Lucia will end up closer and closer to looking like his friends’ countries.

Look at the state of Venezuela, with its scarcity and violence, and the actions of the dictator Maduro against his people, something which the SLP continues to defend at all costs, as well as the dictator himself whom he saw fit to invite over here and fete with the State’s scarce resources. The story one hears everywhere is that he got a whole lot out of it last Christmas to keep the fans happy. Look at Brazil, where the people are at their wits end, suffering from scarcity and the corruption of one of the same undemocratic, self-seeking administrations which keep on ignoring the wishes of the majority, which cease to listen to the people, which have become power crazy, and which are there to simply enrich themselves and their insiders. You’ve already seen the examples of authoritarianism right here. Don’t tell us you would wish for more and more of that over here. Don’t shut your eyes to it. Don’t dismiss it conveniently for whatever reason. Be warned.

But it’s the same pattern with all those who tend towards leftist dictatorships. The country ends up in distress and violence, hopelessness and chaos. It happens very easily. And when a leader has that tendency in him and is surrounded by friends who are seasoned in it, he is headed in the same direction. Out of his 20 years in office, Kenny Anthony has been in government for 15 years. He does not want to leave. But what has he got to show for it? All the big projects which you see before you were put there or were started by a UWP government. Even the intended projects he is now promising were already on the cards with blueprints and all, four and a half years ago when too many of you were blinded by Kenny’s reckless promises.

The St Lucia Labour party is just one big PR machine, continuing to fool the gullible time and time again. Fellow Lucians, do not allow yourselves to be fooled yet another time. Kenny caught you last time. But he did not catch us, we did not take the 100 million dollars bait and the “jobs, jobs, jobs” bait, and “the better days” bait, and the “constitutional reform bait, and the minimum wage” bait, and the “VAT is an evil tax” bait. Were you one of those who swallowed those empty promises? Well, you owe your country to put things right this time. Because now he is back with some more of them. This time he gives them a new name: pledges. It does not matter what you call it. If your word is worth nothing, no label will cut it. Let’s wish each other the best of luck for our future – the futures of the malaway, the futures of the middle class, the futures of employers, employees, the youth, the children, the police the victims of crime – the future of Helen. People of St Lucia, do yourselves a favour and let’s make it a big celebration on June 6!

The evidence is in all the religious sects and reprobate evil parading as religion from the Middle East and Arab. The language is now code for wanton terrorism and not the medium of learning and scholarship that it once was. Note the descent of entire populations in heinous crime in the name of an invisible god of their imaginations.
