Independence Swim Tomorrow

THE St. Lucia Amateur Swimming Association will host its first Independence Swim Championship tomorrow. The one day meet is open to all age groups and is scheduled for the Rodney Heights Aquatic Center in Rodney Bay.

According to SLASA Public Relation Officer Sue Monplaisir, the championship is expected to attract well over 150 swimmers from the various clubs across the island all working towards improving their times.

Monplaisir said, “All events will be swum according to seed times regardless of age group or gender; however swimmers will be ranked according to age group and gender in tabulating the final results”.
Heading the list of swimmers competing will be the 2015 junior female swimmer of the Year Katie Kyle, senior female swimmer of the Year ThaliaBergasse, junior male swimmer of the Year TerrelMonplaisir. Also on show will be (Boys) – D’Andre Blanchard, Ziv Reynolds, Jamarr Archibald, MatheoCaapasso, Jyasi Daniel, Shaquil Flavius and Devin Boodha. (Girls) – Naima Hazell, JorjaMederick, Eden Crick, Veronica and Abigail Brown, Katelin Samuels, Maya Hilaire, Joesha Daniel, Mikaili Charlemagne, Abbie Pultie and Lovell Motley just to name a few.
