Are we Obeying Christ’s Command?

THE EDITOR:
An overwhelming number of persons profess to be Christians. The term “Christian” means a follower of Christ. Hence, a Christian makes a sincere effort to be like Jesus Christ. (Please read all Scriptures and prove what is written here for yourself). Of course, the Christian is not expected to measure up perfectly to Jesus’ example since all have inherited sin. Romans 3:23. But he tries to follow Jesus as best as he could. 1 Peter 2:21.

Jesus was one who went out and preached about the gospel of the Kingdom. Matthew 4:23. In fact, he said that preaching the Kingdom of God was the MAIN reason God sent him to Earth according to Luke 4:43. Also, Jesus’ apostles preached with him too. Matthew 10:5 – 7, 11 – 13; Luke 8:1. After Christ went back to heaven, his apostles and disciples continued preaching about Christ and God’s Kingdom “to the uttermost parts of the earth.” Acts 1:8; Acts 5:42; Acts 28:23, 31.

While speaking about the last days, Jesus indicated clearly at Matthew 24:14 that his followers would preach the “gospel of the Kingdom.” (See also Matthew 28:19, 20) If we are Christians living in these last days, are we obeying Jesus Christ in preaching about God’s Kingdom, His Righteous heavenly Government? Isaiah 9:6, 7 Are we really obeying Christ’s command to preach God’s Kingdom? This is a matter for serious thought since we wish to please God and His Son Jesus Christ. John 14:15; John 15: 10, 14
