THIS December, The Saint Lucia Visitor Channel celebrates ten years of service to the St. Lucia Tourism Industry and to the exposure of the tourism product locally.

What started out as a half hour DVD service to nine hotels in St. Lucia has blossomed into a full television channel, promoting travel, conservation awareness, culture, career opportunities and local cuisine.

The business employs the service of seven permanent staff but brings together a cast of another five with skills in host presenting, drone filming, researching, still photography and video editing.

To mark this occasion the owners of The Visitor Channel have produced a special commemorative DVD for presentation to its local and international partners. This production features its ten year journey and successes. The production seeks to capture the essence of what has made the Visitor Channel successful both to its local and visitor audience.

Said a Channel spokesman: “The Visitor Channel is dedicated to exposing the benefits of the tourism sector to all St. Lucians, reaffirming our drive to promote linkages, showcase career opportunities and ignite the critical awareness needed to maintain the island’s successes and promote desired growth. We believe that increased local opportunities will bring additional acceptance and ownership of the sector. Our latest endeavours to promote ‘Community Tourism’ are designed to showcase these local successes and potential in non-traditional locations”.
