Another Century For Kimani Melius

THE Sandals Foundation Cricket Camp continued at the Beausejour Cricket Ground last Sunday.

In a 40 overs a side match, the teams were again led by Kimani Melius and Chaz Cepal. Cepal’s team batting first made 191 all out, with Garvin Serieux making 39, captain Cepal 36, Hanif Antoine 29, Shelton St Rose 14 and Keygan Arnold 10.

Bowling for Melius’ team, Simeon Gerson had 4 for 32 in 8 overs, Zidane Arthur 2 for 9 in 2 overs and UdellPreville 2 for 23 in 3 overs.

In response, Melius’ team easily overhauled their target, finishing on 192 for 5 in 28.3 overs, with Skipper Melius leading the way with 62 Rene Montoute scored 29, Xystus Emmanuel 27, Dominic Auguste 24 and Jelani Cupid 21.

For Cepal’s team, his younger brother Joshua finished with 2 for 19 in 5 overs.

Meanwhile, on Friday Melius celebrated his call up to the West Indies Under-15 team with a century. In the opening fixture, he led one team, whilst Dhan-Raj Cepal led the other.

Batting first, Melius team complied 154 for 3. Of that total, Melius contributed an amazing 115, his ninth century that included six fours and four sixes.

In reply, Chaz’s team was bundled out for 96 in 24.2 overs. Stavone Gabriel made 22 and Dominic Auguste 16.

For Melius’ team the main wicket takers were Key-gan Arnold with 4 for 8 in 3.2 overs, Zidane Arthur 2 for 19 and Tristan Norbal 2 for 26.

In the second match, the teams were led by Rahym Joseph and Garvin Serieux. Joseph’s team made 141 for 9,AckeemAuguste hit 34, Rahym Joseph 33, Jelani Cupid 20.

Bowling for Serieux’s team, UdellPreville claimed 3 for 10 and Joshua Cepal 2 for 25.
In reply, Serieux’s team finished on 108 for two in 17 overs when bad light brought an end to the match. Lee Solomon led the scoring with 38; Hanif Antoine 23, Garvin Serieux 20 not out and AvalinusCallender 13 not out.
