CARNIVAL festivities are well underway and CIBC FirstCaribbean has stepped up in its support of Just Us Kids Carnival Band.

The band’s portrayal will be enhanced this year by the stilt walking section, CIBC FirstCaribbean Stilt Walkers.

The section features talented youth who have honed their skills and are all geared to entertain the crowds at the upcoming Junior Parade of the Bands.

Country Manager, Ladesa James-Williams said: “This donation to Just us Kids supports two keen passions for CIBC FirstCaribbean in the form of culture and youth development. We are pleased to support the stilt walking art form and look forward to parading with the participants on the road.”

In that regard, CIBC FirstCaribbean is happy to support any programme that facilitates artistic development and knowledge transfer, and that inspires and motivates young people to take up the torch of tradition and carry it high.

Just Us Kids’ Barry George, was on hand to receive the contribution and commitment of support from CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Country Manager, Ladesa James-Williams, and Business Support Officer, Tia Henry.

He said: “Just Us Kids Jr. Carnival band is pleased to collaborate with CIBC FirstCaribbean for our 2015 portrayal of the theme Commercial Break. CIBC FirstCaribbean’s sponsorship to the stilt walkers has given the members who hail from Laborie an opportunity to participate in Junior Carnival, and also to participate in other activities leading up to the junior parade of the bands. This collaboration is very important to the band, in particular the members of the stilt walking section and by extension the community of Laborie.”

The Junior Parade of the Bands is slated for tomorrow.
