THE St. Lucia Athletics Association will tomorrow turn its attention to the Mindoo Phillip Park for the hosting of the second of two qualifiers in the 22nd Edition of the 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited 14 and Under Games.

According to the SLAA, this qualifier is for clubs, schools and individuals from Dennery, Castries, Babonneau, Gros Islet along with Anse la Raye and environs. To date well over two hundred athletes from eleven teams (seven clubs and four schools) have registered for this weekend’s showpiece.

The top sixteen track and top 8 field athletes will battle it out in the following events: 60m, 80m, 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 800m 1000m, 1200m, 4×75, 4×100, 4×300 relay races. The athletes will also compete in the cricket ball throw, high jump; long jump and javelin throw with the hope of securing places at the grand finals on May 24 at the same venue.

Like previous events under its banner the SLAA is appealing to parents and well-wishers to turn up in large numbers to support the future track and field stars of St. Lucia.
