Veterans ‘Quarters’ This Weekend

THE 2014 / 2015 Veterans Football tournament organized by Veterans in Sports Inc and Caribbean Alliance Insurance resumes this weekend after the Christmas break with the quarter final matches.

The quarter final matches will be played on a one match knockout basis and will be staged at the Soufriere Mini Stadium.

One match is scheduled for Saturday 8:00 p.m. and it promises to be a very explosive one.

Defending champions VSADC will take on former champions Vieux Fort South who they defeated in last year’s final to claim the title. Vieux Fort South go into the match unbeaten, led by their prolific striker Titus Elva who has scored 11 goals, the most in the tournament so far.

The defending champions VSADC lost their final preliminary match to Caricom Masters 1 – 0 and will want to make amends in the quarter finals against Vieux Fort South, one of their main rivals.

Before Saturday night’s first quarter final match, an exhibition match featuring two invited teams will be played from 6:00 p.m.

Three more quarter final matches will be played on Sunday Game 1 – from 4:00 p.m. Gros Islet against Caricom Masters; Game 2 – from 6:00 p.m. Dennery All Blacks versus Behind the College All Stars and at 8:00 p.m. home team Soufriere comes up against Anse la Raye.

The semi finals will be played next weekend with the finals the following weekend.
